The Ultimate Ash action figure comes with four interchangeable head sculpts, chainsaw, mechanical hand, wood hand, hand stump, photo of his car, and shotgun that fits in a back holster. Once again, NECA has worked their magic and added a couple of excellent figures to this short-lived, but much appreciated, series. In the company of two work colleagues, he will resume his role as a demon hunter armed with his Remington and his chainsaw.

Value Stop Ash comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, alternate wooded hand, and murderous doll. The detail here is every bit as good as I expect from NECA, even when they’re turning out another version of Ash and in a one-off outfit to boot. This definitely captures his younger appearance and NECA did a great job on the details of the outfit. He seems sturdy enough (my last real NECA QC issue was back in the first series of the Aliens line, so I've been pretty satisfied with them) and there's a solid range of movement from most joints.Three portraits, mostly new accessories (just a bit of reuse on the tape player body), and a completely new sculpt that captures the first appearance of Ash quite well. They mention that it is a great figure with an amazing likeness and comes complete with all his interchangeable weapons. The sleeves are nearly ripped off, it’s loaded with cuts and tears, and he’s got a series of belts around his torso holding it together. Of course, Ash’s right arm terminates in his iconic chainsaw, which obviously allowed NECA to reuse the one they used for the original Ash… and the Bloody Ash… oh, and the Ultimate Ash. I don't think that's really possible, though, so it's weird for NECA to include accessories for that pose, use that pose on the box, but then not ensure that the figure can take that pose. Unfortunately, one night when he was a bit drunk he read the Necronomicon and brought the Cadaverous back to life. Palisades Toys before going out of business in 2006 produced two series of 4″ scale Army of Darkness figures.They then moved on to producing a series of highly detailed cult classic figures similar to McFarlane’s Movie Maniacs.

The articulation here is the same as we’ve seen on previous Ash figures and that means lots of rotating hinges. But NECA’s been good about doing the creatures in this one, as this is the third version of the Demon Spawn. Also sculpted into the torso is the rig of black straps that Ash uses to secure the sheath for his boomstick that’s slung diagonally across his back.

But I’m thankful for what we got, and that I have one more figure to check out, so come on back next Friday and I’ll open up Henrietta the Deadite! I've wanted a classic The Evil Dead version of Ash for years and I'm very satisfied with what NECA has released. They are collector friendly and look great all lined up on the shelf, but sadly I won’t be able to keep these figures boxed because of space limitations, so I’m just going to tear right into them. I was super curious about the Evil Dead films though I really hadn't seen many horror films at that point.
