because I don't want to renovate a castle of my own (let alone do TV shows to make it possible—no shade, and I'm delighted that other people are doing it, but being on television is not any version of my dream job!

When the Strawbridges started looking for a place in France, they initially had their eyes set on a standard house. The way Dick and Angel narrated the book is exactly like watching them on TV, you feel it all, so you will laugh and at one point you will look for a tissue, -they tell there storie with so much love in their voice, so you se it all before your eyes as you listen. Her first television appearance was in 2010 when she sought investment for her business venture on Dragon's Den. Anyone looking to purchase an old castle and fix it up themselves (or anyone wanting to talk themselves out of doing that) to learn a little more about the experience. Last time we sat inside and the glow from the red lights as the evening descended was really rather magical. Too much detail in some places (bathing and caring for children and food consumed) and not enough in others.

The street is narrow, cobbled and oozes charm and looks amazing on an overcast day with the warm indoor lights glowing from the cafes and restaurants. Heartwarming, inspirational and beautifully narrated, just loved listening to them both narrating their own story, great to have more of a behind-the-scenes insight having enjoyed the TV show. Dick and Angel Strawbridge go into even more depth on their first year in the Chateau de la Motte-Husson, which they bought in pretty rough condition, and renovated on a budget. La Petite Hostellerie is a quaint restaurant with an outdoor eating area which you can find at 35 rue de la Harpe, 75005 Paris.Along the way we\x27ll read glorious descriptions of rural life in France, with charming characters, delicious food and wonderful seasonal produce, together with the extraordinary list of renovations and restorations Dick and Angel completed, many of which were never shown on TV.

I simply love it when waiters are friendly and you can ask them for menu recommendations or new local events to attend.Dick has a very soothing, melodious voice therefore, in my opinion, he is better at narration but Angel is so lovely that I enjoyed her parts just as much. Like many couples, Dick and Angel had long dreamed of living in France, but where others might settle for a modest bolthole in the French countryside, the Strawbridges fell in love with a 19th-century fairytale château, complete with 45 rooms, seven outbuildings, 12 acres of land and its own moat. The book is well organised (as, it seems, was the work they carried out on the chateau) and very informative - bringing the renovation to life. Yes, there were a few minor editing mistakes but this all added to the quirky nature that many of us have come to know and love. I have been watching Escape To The Chateau since it's inception and have watched the chateau take on a whole new life.
