Beyond his era-defining music with Blondie, Stein has collaborated with a host of artists over the years, including Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, William Burroughs, Devo, Glenn O’Brien, and Shepard Fairey. A beautiful coffee table signed limited edition art book chronicling the extraordinary collaboration between Debbie Harry and H. His 1977 painting, Penis Landscape , included as a poster in the Dead Kennedys’ 1985 LP Frankenchrist , led to a lawsuit alleging the band was distributing harmful material to minors. When I listen to these old tracks, it puts me there like I am a time traveler,” Harry said about the collection. Though he didn’t know the group–Giger preferred to listen to jazz–he agreed to the cover and to the promo videos, even directing when the original director didn’t show.

It was a match of rock and sci-fi, something the MTV generation had seen everywhere from a Dire Strait famous music video to David Bowie’s Starman and Major Tom and nearly everything about Devo. I also had a magazine with a very evocative picture of a snowy street, and I looked at it all the time. He helped design the haunting imagery for Swiss psyche rockers Walpurgis’ 1969 album, The Shiver , Emerson Lake, and Palmer’s gold-selling 1973 LP, Brain Salad Surgery , and the sleeve for French prog-rockers Magma’s 1978 record Attahk . Renowned as the co-founder and guitarist of the iconic new wave band Blondie, Chris Stein’s photography is as poignant and powerful as the songs he wrote.

Her spectacular voice drips with a sophisticated elegance rarely heard in pop music as she continues to infuse her work with an exquisite artistic sensibility. Their first two albums contained strong elements of punk and new wave, and although highly successful in the UK and Australia, Blondie was regarded as an underground band in the US until the release of Parallel Lines in 1978. Undoubtedly, the 1981 image would go on to play its hand in influencing Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, its race of antagonistic Cenobites, and particularly their leader, Pinhead.

The album will be reissued in late September, and the book will come out via Titan Books on November 11. She now has over 30 film and television roles to her credit, including Union City (1980), Videodrome (1983), Hairspray (1988), Body Bags (1993), and Heav" (1995). The book begins with pictures from the trio’s first meeting in New York – the Alien exhibition and socialising afterwards. The New York Times notes "POINT OF VIEW: Me, New York City, and the Punk Scene is a fascinating document, not only of the punk scene of the early and middle 1970s but more generally of New York City in its years of chaos, decay and creative energy. Fine art prints are editioned unless otherwise clearly indicated and come hand signed and/or embossed by the photographer or their Estate.Giger had been the set designer on the film, creating a series of erotic and symbolic images that were at once both terrifying and strangely beautiful.
