But if it fits you, it makes a fantastic full-auto blaster for covering or defensive roles in a NERF war. Turning off the personalised advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. If you’re trying to be at all stealthy, that goes out the window when you spin the Hyperfire up – your foe may have a split second’s warning before the darts rain down. It weighs around four pounds fully laden, which is not too bad, but noticeably heavier than the Rapidstrike.

I found it was jamming way too often compared to other full-auto blasters – my thumb got very sore priming my Hammershot as I fiddled around trying to get it unjammed on numerous occasions.Unlike most flywheel blasters, it uses a conveyor system to feed darts into the flywheels, rather than a pusher mechanism. It may be over in only 5 seconds, but watching those 25 darts hit your target makes the refilling worthwhile. Nerf are definitely a big kid toy, and with our oldest being 22, they're a long-time firm favourite in our house. The age range is appropriate though, these darts don't half sting when they hit, and 6 year olds as a rule simply don't have the ability to be safe or accurate. Baby and infant toys are great, but as your children get older they move on, and if they're anything like my boys then it won't be long before they are drooling at the big kid toys.

Just press the button in front of the trigger while pulling the drum down, and it drops out with very little resistance, so it won’t be a problem even for younger kids. So while the Hyperfire’s technical performance is excellent, I found the practicalities let it down. Once that’s done and the batteries are in place, all you need to do is slap the magazine into the slot in the underside of the gun and you’re ready for rapid fire. When it comes to winning toy battles in a convincing manner, you will want the best features to help you succeed in your mission.Hyperfire works as expected, and thats very well, the small 6 dart magazine has all 6 darts in and the dart condition is very good with only some slight markings on the back of the dart. Blaster was abit dirty though, due to sticky fingers and pen marks but nothing that 20 minuets of scrubbing can solve. However, it is let down by a tendency to jam, especially with older darts and I found it uncomfortable to use. The N-Strike Elite Hyperfire Blaster is really easy to control, with an acceleration button/trigger to 'fire it up' and then a trigger to shoot.

It did manage the claimed 27m range, but with wild inconstency and with no accuracy whatsoever out to that distance. Challenging your friends to a battle with the Nerf N Strike Elite: Hyper-Fire Blaster proves a versatile choice. It also comes with a 25 dart drum, which you will need as you can fire up to five darts per second straight out of the box.

The HyperFire was released in a Costco exclusive value pack that included the blaster, two twenty-five dart drums, fifty Elite Darts, and instructions.

We also found that the canted flywheels, while also improving accuracy, seem to help out with both the overall range and the consistency of the distance the darts flew. The handling is also excellent, in part thanks to the batteries pulling weight back towards the shoulder and balancing things out. Today, we have millions of users a month from around the world, and assess more than 1,000 products a year. Considering small parts included, please keep in mind that it is not suitable for kids under 36 months of age.
