Some of the main ones include softening shea butter, hydrating glycerin, nourishing magnesium, and Madecassoside, which is one of the four main compounds in the plant extract Centella Asiatica, an incredibly soothing and repairing agent that helps strengthen the skin barrier. The Cicaplast Baume and Gel are targeted towards different things despite having a similar ingredient list. The former is marketed as a ‘soothing repairing balm’ while the latter is ‘pro-recovery skincare’. It almost reminds me of a lighter, more sophisticated version of Vaseline or Aquaphor or a silicone-based primer, which if you have oily skin, you probably know how badly it exacerbates skin texture besides making your makeup slide off your face.

So, in conclusion, the Cicaplast Baume B5 is a better product than the Cicaplast Gel B5 because it doesn’t slide off my face, it doesn’t leave an excessively oily residue, and it actually does something to help my skin feel softer and look smoother. Cicaplast B5 SPF50+: which has eight chemical filters, but La Roche Posay claims is not a sun product. I’ve seen several comments from people saying the Baume clogged their pores and caused them to break out. Ideal for both men and women, this cream can be used to moisturise and soothe all skin types including very dry skin.

Cicaplast Hand Cream: multipurpose moisturizer with 30% Glycerin that can also be used on the face. If you have acne-prone skin, this is possible as emollients like Shea Butter and Dimethicone in products could clog your pores. I only used this product a couple of times and combined it with a few different products in my skincare routine to see whether I could make it work by using something else, but I stopped giving it a chance because it just wasn’t doing anything good for my skin.

With the original La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume going viral, I thought I should review the gel version for those it didn’t work for. I typically use the Cicaplast Baume at the last step of my nighttime skincare routine, so I decided to swap it for the Cicaplast Gel to see how it compares. Cicaplast Baume B5 softens my skin and makes it look glowy and smooth, while the Cicaplast Gel B5 only exacerbates my texture and makes my pores look enormous.I also never stopped using it even after stopping tretinoin, and I even use it as a weekly mask by applying much more than I usually would and sleeping in it. Shea Butter and Vitamin E are the two primary ingredients removed from the Cicaplast Gel to make a less emollient product. About the brand: La Roche-Posay is one of the most dermatologist-recommended skincare brands worldwide. The brand is known for producing clinically-tested skincare products that are well-tolerated by all skin types, including those with sensitive skin. About My Skin: Sensitive and combination If you are familiar with French Pharmacy Skincare, you’ll know that Shea Butter is a critical emollient in many of their products, especially for barrier repair.
