In Soon I Will Be Invincible, Dr Impossible grumbles about the impracticality of his cape a couple of times (it gets in the way of fighting and is heavy and cumbersome when he's fleeing), but continues to wear it because "I promised myself I wouldn't go down in street clothes".

Opens up conversations with children about everyday superpowers that we can all foster, e.g. resilience, friendship, listening skills.

When I saw the comparisons to The Boys, I couldn't start it fast enough! It didn't have as much humor, charm, raunch or gore as the show (yes, raunch and gore are good things in this context, and if you haven't watched The Boys yet...well, it's definitely NOT for everyone, but if it's for you, you're missing out). Still, the influence was notable. There were interesting twists, with a valuable focus on environmental justice.

These are great at mitigating some of the effects of crosswinds by straightening out the airflow and aligning it with the direction in which the car is heading. This helps to prevent the y250 vortex from being blown one way or another, keeping it in the same spot.Prevalent, though not universal, in Young Justice (2010). Robin and Miss Martian both wear capes, as do several other superheroes. This is Superman. You may have heard of him. Whoever came up with the phrase “Not all heroes wear capes” was probably thinking of Kal-El of Krypton when they did so.

Ah Xander. The one child in his family with no real powers. He just wants to be left alone to save the marine life from the pesky normies out to destroy the oceans. But when he meets Butch... "Mine!" OMG, he's the possessive dirty-talker I absolutely LOVE. "Who did this to you?" He'd burn the world down for Butch. He uses it to glide (yes, even before Batman Begins), he uses it to hide his arms (so nobody knows whether he's about to throw a punch or a Batarang), it makes him seem larger and scarier than he is (going along with his motif of fear), and it gives a large amount of useless space for mooks to target. Capes can also be used to conceal. Batman uses his cape to blend into the shadows, but he uses it for another reason as well: theatricality. Batman and many other characters know that capes were worn by the aristocracy in many cultures; capes thus imply power, wealth, royalty, and/or all three. It is no wonder, then, that villains such as Doctor Doom, Magneto and Loki all wear capes - they think quite highly of themselves and consider themselves to be highly influential and powerful. Capes can also create an aura of mystery, and thus are used quite frequently by the sorcerers and illusionists of comics. Doctor Strange and Mysterio are two notable magic users for whom the cape is a key element of their ensemble.
